This attractive and delicately feathered bird is very similar in shape and colouring to the Song Thrush and most common as a winter visitor, but can be seen (albeit) rarely earlier in the year, they are the classic night-time migrant. The Redwing is the smallest true Thrush and lives way up in the tundra of Greenland and Iceland, then easterly through Scandinavia and the Baltic States.
I drew and painted this beautiful bird a while ago now, but remember spending hours finely painting the feathers. Again it is a watercolour with highlighting in gouache for the overpainting and finishing touches. Whilst the original was sold at the time I do still hold the scans and could produce a Giclée print if requested.
I am always willing to accept commissions for drawing, painting, Illustration and designing etc, (depending on current workloads), please feel free to drop me a line via the 'Contact us' from the drop down menu above to discuss your requirements, thank you.
