Dartford Warbler - Watercolour (sold)
Dartford Warbler - Watercolour (sold)

The "Dartford Warbler" is a small long-tailed and dark warbler that has sadly suffered from the severity of the weather. During the 1960's it was almost decimated but has slowly managed to regain some of it's population. As far as I know it's not actually found in Dartford (Kent) but can be seen at RSPB reserves in Devon, Dorset & Suffolk. Living on lowland heathland that supports gorse and heather this hardy little warbler feeds exclusively on insects.

Drawn initially in soft pencil around an HB or 2B for the darker areas onto a flecked finish pastel paper. Painted in afterwards in both watercolour and bodycolour (gouache) to achieve the bright highlights on a dark paper.

Whilst the original is sold, Giclée prints can be taken from the scans if requested? The prints would be on superior archive quality 192gsm paper supplied as print only, not mounted or framed and slightly smaller in size to A4 (29.7cm x 21cm 11.6" x 8.2"). The Open Edition Print would be bagged carefully and supplied in a protective postal tube for safety. If you are interested, then by all means please drop me an email via the 'Contact us' drop down menu above where I would be happy to answer any correspondence from you.

I am always willing to accept commissions for drawing, painting, Illustration and designing etc, (depending on current workloads), please feel free to drop me a line via the 'Contact us' from the drop down menu above to discuss your requirements, thank you.
