My oil pastel drawing is taken from the beautiful 1890 poem ‘Lake Isle of Innisfree’, by William Butler Yeats, a small excerpt reads:
I will arise and go now, and go to Innisfree,
And a small cabin build there, of clay and wattles made;
Nine bean rows will I have there, a hive for the honey bee,
And live alone in the bee-loud glade.
‘The Bee-Loud Glade’, shows a small clearing at the edge of a forest where the sun dances softly through the swaying trees and the whispering hum of the honey bees gently on the breeze. Again an image from my imagination inspired by the poem having read it many years ago and again quite recently.
