"Benjy" was a commissioned watercolour dog portrait for two very dear late friends of ours George & Margaret Levitt. Working from a snapshot of the dog who is seemingly posing for the camera, I tried to give the portrait a bit of humour and most importantly, life! As with all my work it was drawn freehand in a soft 2b pencil then painted onto Saunders Waterford Watercolour paper (300gsm) hot pressed. I have highlighted the painting in bodycolour (gouache).
